Oh The Bliss & Blessings

Bliss. I love that word. It makes me feel as though I could literally fly.

Bliss
/blis/ noun
perfect happiness; great joy

While I know nothing is perfect, I do know that every day should be a different kind of perfect happiness. Or even satisfaction. I feel great joy in very little ways. For example if I come home from work and see my husbands car in the driveway I could just cry tears of joy. How crazy is it to be able to love someone that way?

On a side note... Most of you already know that Tripper recently got a new job at Franz! This is a really big step for us in terms of.. well everything pretty much. It's a great pay raise from the last job and gives us the opportunity to do a lot more in our marriage and as a family in general. It's a HUGE blessing that he got this job. He starts within the next week or so. We are so thankful for all our Heavenly Father has blessed us with thus far in our marriage. It is so incredible to see things go right as you work toward BLISS.

When I think about perfect happiness I think of a few things; my family, my husband, Heaven, service, etc. (puppies, doughnuts and sometimes ice cream)

Family. Who on earth loves you more than your family?! That's right. No one. I can't think of a time when I have felt more perfect happiness than when I was with my family.

Spouse. Well this is an easy one. Aside from the given of your family, who could love you more than your spouse?! No one. Perfect happiness does not happen in every marriage. There will never be a perfect marriage, but the happiness you can bring upon each other should be perfect in the eyes of each other. Spouses are awesome because there are so many life decisions you get to make together. In reality you make ALL your life decisions with your spouse. How satisfying it is to problem solve with your spouse, agree with your spouse, and in general just do life together. How sweet it is to be loved by someone who accepts every part of you.

Heaven in general. It is taught that any degree of heaven is more desirable than our earthly state.

Service. The pure love of Christ. What else could be more perfect than the pure love of Christ. Service is not always fun while you are doing the act, but I know I always feel so good doing something nice for someone else. Another reason why families and spouses are a source of great joy; service. You spend your whole life doing acts of service for your family, having service done for you, and then you get married and you get to service each other in little ways every single day.

I'v learned a lot about what happiness is in my lifetime. Not everything will be going smoothly in your life all at once, nor will there come a day when nothing bothers you or makes you upset. But I do believe that is the way life is supposed to be. And in the end when we are judged we will see everything that went wrong in our lives and be able to ask ourselves if we were happy regardless. In a general sense I'd say most people are happy with the way their lives are going. Nothing will ever be perfect, but with great joy in mind, happiness can be the ultimate reward in the end.

Here's to more blissful days and blessings well beyond what we could ever do by ourselves.

This video called "What Matters Most" sums up most of what I believe bliss is.

"Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved"
