Madeline this post is for you... ;)
I love Madeline. She is so much fun to have in my ASL class and I know that I can always look over to her, wave and sign something to her and she will look at me with her signature face and sign "again" haha. She is so happy all the time and she has the most gorgeous looonnnggggg blonde hair ever. She told me that she looks forward to reading my blog, soo... this is for you :)
So yesterday was a rough day for me. I was home alone most of the day and when that happens all I think about is Aaron. I start to miss him a lot and I shed a tear (or two.....) and I just get all sad. It's bad because everyone comes home and I'm just in this bad mood cause I just want to be with him! I woke up to a beautiful text from him.. I won't share all of it but this is something that really stuck out to me. "I love you more than anything in this world and that is something you can take to the grave because it's totally true. 600 miles can separate us no less than 6000 miles will while I'm gone. We have something amazing that will carry us through any trial TOGETHER." That was awesome. Just sayin'
I have had this ongoing headache for the past two days and no matter what I do it won't go away. It's the most annoying thing ever. I have slept, taken medicine, drank tons of water and NOTHING. For some reason it gets worse in 5th period to the point where it's hard to even focus on the teacher. Maybe I need glasses or something? The same thing happened to my sister when she needed glasses. I'm NOT a glasses person, and I don't think I ever will be! That is just how it is. I don't care what anyone says, that is something I could never pull off. So I hope that is not case. But I will wait and see what happens and maybe head to the doctors soon... Bleh.
Today when I got home the UPS man came up to the door and handed me a package. It had three of mine and my sister's favorite bands concerts in it. I am SO excited! Right now I am watching Paramore and I am lovingggg it. Hailey Williams has such an amazing voice and she sounds amazing live. I will be watching the other two with my sister soon, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and CHRISTINA AGUILARA :)
Wednesday's are good. Late start, shortened classes and mutual. I am in charge of mutual tonight and we are making candles! SWAG.

Monday's should go extinct.
WHO likes Monday's?? Seriously.. no one. Monday's should just all go die.
Every Monday this is what I do.. My alarm goes off, I push snooze. My alarm goes off again, I push snooze it goes off one more time and what do I do? SNOOZE. I finally get out of bed and it's 7:10. I need to leave by 7:35 so I stare at myself in the mirror for 5 more minutes trying to decide if getting ready is even worth it. I decide on putting my hair in a messy bun and wearing my Columbia jacket because that is comfortable. I spend another 5 minutes deciding if I want to put make up on, I do and proceed to pick out if I want to wear jeans, which are really uncomfortable but cute, yoga pants which are a little more comfortable but those are sketch, or basketball shorts which are reallllly comfortable but are really not cute on girls. I go with jeans so it's not totally obvious that I don't care about my appearance. I head out the door and walk into first period, math. I hate math. I sit in my seat near the front of the room and scribble down the warm up. The teacher gives us like 15 minutes to do two simple problems. My table partner and I get done in about 2 and I'm pretty much asleep with my eyes open until she begins to check homework. Ms.Lee is super monotone and boring so that makes my class such a drag. First period sucks. I stumble to my next class which is all the way across campus and sit in my little desk in ASL. I think that is my favorite class. Although we aren't aloud to talk, I love it so much. It is cool to see everyone learning and progressing in the language and my ASL class sure does have a sense of humor! We are always laughing and each other and just having a good time. Third period is once again all the way across campus so I have to hurry to English while stopping at my locker in between. I always walk into class as the bell is ringing. English is my favorite subject but not my favorite class. That class is usually just a big blur. My teacher doesn't like giving homework. I then go to lunch and finally wake up a little and start to be myself. After an hour of fun with my friends I go to forth period, Environmental Science. Oh my goodness... worst class ever. Sooooo boring! All the teacher does is talk. I hate that class. Fifth period is History, which I would really enjoy if my class wasn't full of a bunch of loud, obnoxious, beat-boxing kids who don't care about school. Luckily I sit by the only 4 normal people in class. Out of 34 students there are 4 of us who actually care. My teacher is super laid back and I like his teaching style. I just wish the kid behind me would stop BEAT-BOXING while Mr. DuChesne is trying to teach me something interesting. After fifth period I go to my locker to drop off my History textbook because Mr.DuChesne "doesn't believe in homework" which is freakin' awesome! I meet Stephanie at our locker and we head to Seminary together. We <3 Seminary! Our class is pretty awesome and I always learn something new in there.
Really the only part about Monday's that suck are the first three periods. Everything goes so soo slow. BUT today something awesome happened! I have spent about the last week and a half talking to Colby Graf about how he is going to ask my good friend Stephanie Powers to homecoming. He asked her today in a really cute way. He made a puzzle and gave pieces to me and my friends Madeline, Clarisa and Brigitta and told us to give them to Steph throughout the day. I gave her mine first during lunch and she just had no idea what the pieces were. Hahaha. After Clarisa met up with her and gave those pieces to her it started to all make sense. By sixth period she had all the pieces and started assembling the puzzle. When it was all put together it said "Will you go to HOMECOMING with me?" and the back of the puzzle said "Colby Graf" I thought it was pretty clever ;) I helped Steph think of a way to say yes and we wrote on the seminary board... "Colby, HOMECOMING with you?? Hmmm.... If the puzzle pieces fit... I think YES ;)" It was all TOTES PRESH. :)

That Awkward Moment....
When something awkward happens, you just gotta laugh along with the rest of the world. Here are a few I have experienced.
That awkward moment when you are at the beach with your boyfriend and he writes your first and middle name in the sand then you go to write his and write his middle name wrong.... (most embarrassing/awkward moment of my life)
That awkward moment when you are really excited about telling a story then you finish and you are the only one laughing.
That awkward moment when you yell someones name and they are the only one that DOESN'T hear you
That awkward moment when you are daydreaming in ASL class and you don't realize you are staring at someone so the teacher asks you if you're okay
That awkward moment when you are in the car with just an acquaintance
That awkward moment when you are singing in the car and someone decides to change the station but you keep singing loud and proud
That awkward moment when you show up somewhere in jeans and everyone else is in church dress..
That awkward moment when someone goes to a Mexican restaurant and tried to order in Spanish but they don't know how to say everything so it comes out in Spanglish
That awkward moment when you have to telling someone there is something on their face
That awkward moment when you can feel someone trying to read what you are texting
That awkward moment when you and a friend are fighting then they show up everywhere you go
That awkward moment when someone asks your name, you tell them then they say "Omg I totally knew you as a baby!"
That awkward moment when your stomach makes noise in the middle of silence reading time in class
That awkward moment when everyone is chanting at a football game then it fades out without you realizing so you are the loudest one
Anyway, I didn't have much to say the last few days, but my point is sometimes life gets awkward. Laugh with it, everyone has their moment, make light of it :)

La Familia
This video pretty much sums up my feelings on the last few days...
Sometimes we get so caught up in the world and in school that we forget what is really important. Family, friends, church, etc. We all need to be reminded every once in a while that the world does not revolve around us, but the world should revolve around the important things in life. Don't get me wrong, school is important but when it comes down to it family is much more important. I have an amazing family I must say. I could not ask for a better mother. She seriously does everything for me whenever I need her to. She is always so kind to me even when I'm "being a teenager." She makes me breakfast every single morning and is such a morning person when I am NOT. She is awesome. My sister Megan is my best friend. I don't know what I would do without her. She is a great influence on me and the best role model. She has made me who I am today and I want to be just like her. She and I can talk about everything. I love that she is just a few steps away. I love that we have like a million and one inside jokes and that we have a different voice for each one. Sometimes our parents look at us and wonder where the heck we came from because we are so crazy together. I love that we call each other "Muffin!!!" I love you muffin puff!! My dad is awesome too. He was the one that made me appreciate the outdoors and the beauty of nature. We use to go on adventures all the time and just have daddy daughter time. I love that I am really close with my dad and he can always make me laugh. My brother doesn't live with us anymore but I still love him. He's got a contagiousness personality and you can't help but laugh at his jokes. He is a beast and works out like every day. He eats all healthy-like and I think that's cool because I have tried eating healthy all the time and it's really hard!
I love my family <3
Me and my daddy out shooting

I wanna be little again!
Today was late start and early release. Let me just say.. BEST day in the whole month! I get to wake up 45 minutes later, go to class for a short 25 minutes, go home, have a car washing party with some of my real friends. Hanging out with my girls from school was something that I really needed today. We played Just Dance 2 and made fools of ourselves but guess what, I had FUN. The last few weeks have been hard for me as Aaron has been gone. But Heather, Clarisa, Stephanie and Rachael always make me laugh and remind me that there are good friends in this world. I love them. :) I don't particularly like youth group now a days because the people I usually talk to have either graduated and are on to bigger and better things or have "more important" things to do than come. As for me, I will continue going because I know it is the right thing and it makes me feel good about myself.
We had an assembly about bullying today at school and it was just one of those things kids my age think "Wow, this is gonna be so dumb..." I'll be honest that was the thought I had going through my head when I walked into the auditorium. I sat next to my friends and folded my arms knowing that I would know everything this guy was about to talk about. I was wrong. I was very wrong. This man, Aaron was his name, taught me a lot. As I sat there and began to think about if I had been a bully to anyone I remembered back to when I was in middle school. I thought I was so cool because people were actually afraid of me. Is that how you want to be remembered by your high school classmates? I know I don't.. that is why I completely changed freshman year. I tossed out all my black clothes and my punk/rock style jewelry and started over. I knew that in high school my friends would leave me behind to fend for myself as I tried to figure out who I was. I was right with that one. When I say I started over, I really did start over. I had to get a whole new group of friends and try to become who I am today. Although it took me two long years of high school to figure out who I was and who I wanted to be, I have finally figured it out. I would say I thought I was a snob the first two years. I thought in my head that was better than every one and I just wanted people to notice me and give me attention. Once I finally got the attention I wanted, I realized something very important about myself.. I don't like attention. Yeah sure I like being recognized for things I do that are good, but I don't like being praised for it. I might take compliments a little too well sometimes but that doesn't make me better than anyone else. I am just like the rest of you, trying to survive high school and get out so I can move on with the rest of my life. Today I know who I am and who I want to be remembered as. I want to be remembered as the girl that always smiled and who was nice to everyone. I want to be known as the girl who was Mormon and always stuck to her standards. I want to be seen as the person who is beautiful on the inside, not the girl that was just beautiful on the outside. I want to leave my name behind for people to remember me as good. When others think of Ashley Belle Hobbs, I don't want bad things to pop into their head.
I was just thinking today about a day I had about 3 weeks ago. Aaron was in town for the weekend and we went off to Sauvie Island (or tried to). Turns out we went completely the wrong way because I'm stupid and said to go across The Bridge of the Gods when it was really suppose to be The St.Johns Bridge.. I don't think we could have possibly gone a more opposite way! Although we never got to Sauvie Island we did go to The Vista House, a view point out by Multnomah Falls. It was gorgeous there, but pretty windy...
ANYWAY.. totally just got side tract with my story about my day. After dinner with his family we headed to the lake. I had lost a bet a few months ago and the loser had to jump into Lacamas Lake WITH their clothes on. Nice of me to make up that bet and then lose.. It was soo COLD!! I got in and it smelled really bad.. just sayin'! After I was totally wet I thought "Your turn!!" I walked towards Aaron and splashed him so he was totally soaked too. Pure bliss ;) It was funny because he ended up getting in too. I wanted to get out as soon as possible because I thought it was just plain gross! He went and changed in the bathroom to change and I waited at the car. I was just thinking, I have a dang good man! He got in Lacamas Lake with me when I was the one who lost. I couldn't ask for a more loving, caring, funny, awesome, perfect person to be with. Enough with the sappy stuff... after Lacamas we headed to my house for root beer floats. Root beer floats aren't my favorite thing.. but they are my favorite when I'm with the people I love. All in all, great day :)

After this we went to Aaron's house for a BBQ. Before we ate dinner he told me all about his childhood and how he use to play back in the forest with his friends and what they did for fun. I thought it would have been a really awesome childhood. He built tree houses with his friends and had pellet gun wars (maybe it was air soft.. I can't remember which one) all the time. It was cool to see how and where he grew up. My childhood was no one near that awesome! For fun me and my best friend Shelby Stanwood would dig holes in her backyard. We were determined to get to China one day and we actually believed we could. Shelby and I liked to catch bugs and keep them in jars. One rainy days when the babysitter was over we would go in her garage, each grab a broom, pull a bagel out of the FREEZER and play hockey. Probably the best game ever. Another thing we liked to do inside was dress up Sasha, her cat in women's underwear. It was quite amusing but the cat didn't like it too much. We spent long afternoons playing Spongbob: Battle to Bikini Bottom on the Playstation 2 and laughing for hours about the stupidest things ever. When it would snow, we would get the neighborhood boys out of their houses, head up to the park and have snowball fights. We once had a snowman building contest and they ended up being huge. I bet they were close to 7 or 8 feet tall. The bullies of the neighborhood next to ours would come knock them over once we left though. I think we were so upset one time that we started crying. I really miss being little and laughing with her. She was my best friend for like 9 years. Her house was my second house and we always told secrets. We never kept anything from each other. We grew apart in middle school as she was a year younger than me, but we still keep in touch and I will always consider her one of my best friends.

What people don't know...
This is what people don’t see…
I am not one to show how I am feeling all the time unless that feeling is happiness. I don’t like to cry in front of people or raise my voice at people, I like to smile and I like to laugh. Obviously I’m not perfect and I’m going to get mad every once in a while but there aren’t many people who have actually seem me when I’m mad. If I am quiet, that doesn’t mean that something is wrong with me or I have a problem with you. I am simply daydreaming about the future I plan to have. I like being happy and that is what I dream of being forever.
What most people don’t know about me is that I am sensitive. People tell me not to take things so personally, but that is who I am and if you don’t like that, it sounds like a personal problem. I often times over think phrases or statements that people say to me. But then other times I don’t know what thought process teens have before the opening of their mouths. Some things that are said to people are so hurtful and they just have no idea. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people judge others without knowing them. When I think of someone badly I like to think of a simple saying my mom has taught me. It’s easy, every time you want to say something rude or negative about someone else just think to yourself “bless their heart.” Although everyone does have first impressions and judgments about others, it will make the world a lot better place if we all just refrain from the one comment about the freshman girl walking down the halls alone.
I am a strong believer in love. Love is what has gotten me through a lot of hard times. Many people don’t know it but lately I have been struggling to find out who my true friends are. Realizing someone is not always going to be there for you is really hard to get through my head. I always thought that if you treated someone the way you wanted to be treated, they would return the favor. That is not necessarily true. It hurts to be treated badly by your peers that go to your own school or the people you use to be really close with. I know now that some people are put in your life to teach you a lesson. I have had a few friendships end in the past two years but the ones I really need in my life always come back. There is really only one person I’m talking about and she knows who she is. One thing I have learned is that there really are people who love us. We just have to let them in. We have to let our walls down and let them reach out to us in a new way. Love is a lot of things.. Love is what makes you sing. Love is when you are at home on a Friday night crying alone in your room and your best friend walks in just to make sure you're not alone. Love is when you get a simple text saying "just thinking of you." Love is what makes you laugh even when you are thinking “Dangit I really wanted to be sad right now!” Love is what makes you miss him so much. Love is that cute phone call you get from your boy just saying “Good night beautiful.” Love is when you get a message that says “Tu sei la mia principessa :)” LOVE is something more to me than a 143. It is something much more. It is a lot of things that I really can’t describe to you unless you’ve experienced it.
One more thing I have come to learn. Why does it matter if we have less friends of facebook than we did yesterday? Why do we care if we know exactly who deleted us and you thought you were so nice to them? Why does it matter what the girl in your English class thinks of you? Why in the world do we care if she gives us a dirty look or makes a rude side comment? Why would it bug us so much if she went home, sat down at her dinner table and began talking about us to her family? It really shouldn’t because I say hey, “For all of you who talk about me, thanks for making me the center of your world. Always forgive your enemies, there is nothing that bothers them more. Be yourself. There is no one that can ever tell you you’re doing it wrong.” I like that quote because not all of us think this way all the time, but we should. She is not going to matter in less than 20 months when we graduate. It only makes her look bad too because she doesn’t know what she is missing out on. Someone really amazing. It is her loss. Not yours.
